Unless I stand corrected, Kin's little girl has been "graduated" from her present home with her familiar keepers to a small cubicle-size enclosure where she is will be living alone. Who makes these decisions? She's not even 6 months old and treated without regard to her emotional welfare. Kawaisoo baby! Red pandas are reputed to be solitary animals, but their social interactions in other zoos amply refute that stereotype. In any event, she's been raised so far in a very social environment. I feel very very sorry about this turn of events. Someone please explain, if there is a rational and ethical explanation for this. Thank you.
Thank you for your reply to my comments regarding Kin's girl's new situation. I stand corrected that she is almost 7 months old, not 6 months, time for rps to be weaned. However, I am wondering if her daily routine will confine her that small dungeon-like cubicle most of the day or will she spend time in the outdoor exhibition cage and in the staff room during the day? Is that small cubicle for night time only? Unable to read Japanese so had my Jpn translate the captions for me. Please add any more info regarding her new situation.

Relieved that she isn't confined to that cubicle and that she spends time in the exhibition cage next to her porcupine neighbor and daytime 'companion'. She should learn asap to being a red panda so that she can successfully live with other red pandas as a juvenile and adult. A good veterinarian should be able to train her to not bite, esp. the hands that feed her. Can't get along with other red pandas if she cannot break the biting habit. We wish her all the happiness in her future life; she certainly deserves it and Kin will not forgive us if we do not.

I guess all Kushiro Zoo staff miss KoKin . Yokohama Sea Paradise is a bit too commercial and noisy for Kokin.
